 Mother Benedict Secondary School is a community-centered secondary school project initiated by the Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa (FMSA) to expand access to quality, inclusive, and sustainable education in Choma District, Zambia.

Why This Project Matters

Choma District continues to experience a growing demand for quality secondary education. Many young people, particularly girls, face limited access due to long distance to schools and inadequate qaulity education.
The Mother Benedict Secondary School Project responds to this need by creating a sustainable, community-centered school that will nurture academic excellence, practical skills, moral values, and social responsibility.

Where will the school be located?

The school is located on 25 hectares of land, approximately 7 km southeast of Choma town in Southern Province, Zambia.

Once completed, Mother Benedict Secondary School will offer O-Level education and A-Level education in line with the national curriculum starting from January 2027.

Yes. The project includes planned boarding facilities for up to 480 students, with special attention given to student safety, wellbeing, and holistic education.

Local communities, traditional leadership, Church institutions, government institutions, and international partners are actively involved through consultations, events, and collaborative project activities.

Admissions will begin in December 2026 as soon as Grade 7 results are published. Official announcements will be made through the project’s communication channels once timelines are confirmed.
