Africa Run 2025

On April 30, 2025, the Africa Run event brought together community members, leaders, and partners to raise funds for the establishment of Mother Benedict Secondary School.

Led by Chief Cooma and supported by the Traffic Police and Choma Correctional Facility team, participants ran, jogged, and walked a 7 km route in a vibrant display of unity and commitment to education.

Blessing of the Land

On August 27, 2025, the Blessing of the Land marked a major milestone in the project’s journey.

Representatives from the Umckaloabo Foundation, the Diocese of Monze, clergy, and local leaders laid foundation stones for the hostel, affirming a shared commitment to the school’s future.

Project Launch – Kick-off

The project was officially launched on December 11, 2025, bringing together families, community members, government officials, and the Ministry of Education.

The launch outlined the project scope, development phases, and key focus areas, including gender equality, climate resilience, and economic sustainability
