Who We Are

Mother Benedict Secondary School is a community-focused education project initiated by the Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa (FMSA) in response to the urgent need for increased access to quality secondary education in Choma District.

The project is rooted in service, compassion, and a commitment to empowering young people through education.

Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa (FMSA)

The Franciscan Missionary Sisters for Africa have over 50 years of experience in establishing and managing secondary schools. To date, FMSA has successfully developed and supported three secondary schools, providing holistic and inclusive education grounded in strong moral and ethical values.

This experience ensures that Mother Benedict Secondary School is built on proven educational and administrative foundations.

Inspiration: Mother Benedict

The school is inspired by Mother Benedict, a humble, compassionate, committed, and visionary educator whose life mission emphasized loving service, discipline, and the transformative power of education.

Her legacy continues through this project, which seeks to form responsible, skilled, and confident young people prepared to contribute meaningfully to society.
